Supramolecular cluster catalysis: benzene hydrogenation catalyzed by a cationic triruthenium cluster under biphasic conditions.

Organometallic catalysis most often proceeds through a catalytic cycle that involves the coordination of the substrate, either by ligand substitution or by oxidative addition, transformation of the coordinated substrate, and liberation of the product, either by decoordination or by reductive elimination.[1] Classical examples that have been studied in great detail are the hydrogenation of olefi...

Separation of Enantiomers by Chromatography as a Vehicle for Chiral Catalysis. Abridged Review*

Chiral, or asymmetric catalysis is the most efficient approach to chiral molecules in the enantiomerically enriched form. Organocatalysis and organometallic catalysis are nowadays the methods of choice in this field. In the first case enantiomerically pure chiral organic molecules of different symmetry classes exhibit catalytic effect, in the second one chiral organic molecule acts as the ligan...

A dual organic/organometallic approach for catalytic ring-opening polymerization.

A dual catalytic system combining an original cationic zinc complex and a tertiary amine is shown to promote efficiently the polymerization of lactide under mild conditions.

Organometallic Catalysis: Some Contributions to Organic Synthesis

Synthetic chemicals are extremely important in all fields of our life and their cheap production in large amounts is necessary for the successful economic growth of modern civilization. Catalysis offers the unique possibility of fast and selective synthesis of desired chemical molecules without consumption of extra amounts of energy and theoretically without the consumption of catalyst itself. ...
